Unit 4 The Loving Kindness

This Kindness practice has been very interesting, I think I may have to do it more than just this one time to get the full benefit of it. I really did enjoy and think with practice I will be able to have my full attention and not have any mind wondering. I have so much going on with work, school and home life that for the first minute I could stay focused then I would start thinking about what I needed to do for the week to once again get ready for a work trip. I did feel more relaxed and by the end of the practice I was more focused on what the instructions said to do. I will definitely do this again I really did enjoy it.

I think mental work outs are great and your mind needs a work out as your body does. I think by mentally working out your mind you will be more relaxed and less stressed and once you slow down you can really enjoy the benefits of taking time to enjoy life. I also feel you will be more calm and patient with life which does take practice. Nothing happens in a day so it is something you will have to practice every day or as often as you could.

Unit 3- My well-being

This week is all about my well-being and how I rate myself, this is going to get interesting :)! I would rate my physical well-being as 5 because I have really slacked on my exercising the past few months and physically I feel gross lol! My Spiritual well-being I would rate a 3 I really need to change this and pronto. I don't know why I let it get to this point I just have not been very focused on myself for a really long time. My psychological well-being I would rate a 6. I know I could improve this and not let my stress get to me so much however the since I have moved back to Michigan I just have not been happy and I need to work on looking at things in a different way. 


I certainly have goals for each of these areas: physically my goal is when I get back from TX (I'm going for work for the weekend) on Monday I will schedule an appointment with myself to fit in some kind of physical activity. My goal for my spiritual well-being is to just focus more on that and incorporate spiritual time in my life. My goals for my psychological well-being is to schedule a few minutes every day, even if it is before I go to sleep every night. 


Some activities I can implement in my life is running I love to run and my physical and psychological well-being improve a ton. I know I need to also make sure I eat constantly and not skip days of eating this is also an activity that will improve my over all well-being! Activities for my spiritual well-being I think I may start by reading Purpose Driven Life this is an amazing book. 


I did complete the relaxation exercise the best I could! With a sick child at home and trying to get ready for this trip for work it was really hard to stay focused and relax. I really have a hard time shutting my mind off when I have a lot that needs to be done in a short time( as I'm sure most people are like this) I really enjoyed listening to it and did focus for most of it and I loved the use of colors and the how a different part of the body was a color. Its funny that taking just 20 minutes to myself where it is quiet is one of the hardest things. I am for sure going to work on this and move toward fitting in time for my well-being!!!

Unit 2 Welcome!



Welcome to my page and my journey through life (currently my relaxation life) for the next several weeks! I am very excited to learn all about integral health and how having my mind, body, and spirit balanced. It is always really exciting when you are taking a class for school and it becomes more than a class and lesson for your own life as well as to help others. Doing homework no longer becomes a horrible task and it becomes a task you look forward to doing. Everyone could always use sometime to relax. I am really excited to be on this journey and can't wait to see what I learn and how relaxed I become!! I hope everyone enjoys reading about me! Have a fabulous day!!! :)




I was kind of excited to listen to"Journey On Relaxation" and to do the exercises, like everyone else relaxing is not my strong point in life right now. I actually listen to this the past three nights before I went to bed and it was great how well it worked and how much easier it was to fall asleep. The music and the voice were soothing I will probably do this as many nights possible before I go to sleep! I think everyone should do something like this every night before they go to bed, it would help probably just about everyone!
